Last Wednesday me and my friends had the privilege of hosting a party for the co-founders of the Insight Project at the majestic Loft 404 ~ The Ambrosia Hub. To those of you who haven’t visited Loft 404: you are missing out on a real gem in the city. Located smack in the middle of downtown Toronto, this space has character oozing from its every crevice:
I first heard about the Insight Project during, what I like to call, my “quarter-life crisis.” The timing couldn’t have been better: one of those moments when everything in the universe is fully aligned. The co-founders, who found themselves feeling unfulfilled after following “traditional” paths to success, had just shared their storytelling project with the world on Kickstarter. They obviously struck a chord with countless backers as their crowd funding goal was not only reached, but exceeded!
The party last week was held to thank all the people who, in some shape or form, supported this amazing project. We had the best sponsors you could ever dream of…
We truly couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and inspiring venue than Loft 404 ~ The Ambrosia Hub.
Small Talk Vineyards graciously featured two of their lovely wines: Goodnight (2010 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend that was launched at the LCBO back in November) and Burning Ambition (2010 Riesling/Gewurztraminer blend that was just released last week). The wines were a huge hit among our guests!
The creative, always entertaining Matt Basile cooked up a storm for us in the Loft 404 kitchen. His tasty tortillas were devoured by all. It’s no wonder this man is getting his own show, Rebel Without a Kitchen, and opening up a new restaurant, Lisa Marie, on Queen West this spring!
And our party wouldn’t be complete without dessert. The fabulous folks from For the Love of Cake made us a tower (yes, a tower) of cupcakes! I consider myself pretty lucky because their shop is a two-minute walk from my condo so I get to eat their creative and delicious creations all the time!
The highlight of the event for me? The people. It’s not often that so many individuals with differing talents, experiences and interests come together under one roof. I think that itself is a true testament to how powerful and inspiring the Insight Project really is. Thank you to the tenacious duo that “gave birth” to this project. I know you have – and will continue to – impact many lives around the globe. Glad to be a part of this beautiful night!
