I recently attended a PayPal mobile app launch event at Boehmer Restaurant where I had a chance to eat, drink, mingle and learn about PayPal’s new app. I had never been to Boehmer and was also excited to hear what new innovations PayPal was bringing to the market. Like many people, I carry way too many cards in my wallet and am thrilled that their new app will allow me to pay for my meals securely from my smartphone.
At the event, Kerry Reynolds (Head of Consumer Marketing at PayPal) gave us a live demonstration of the app and showed us how we can use it at the 50+ restaurants, cafés and food trucks in Toronto – places like Jimmy’s Coffee, SpiritHouse and Boehmer. When you check in with the app, business owners can see your profile photo and name so they can better customize your experience – talk about customer service! And when you’re ready to pay, all you need to do is slide the “P” to “Pay” and tell the server/cashier that you’re paying with PayPal:

The app also allows you to redeem exclusive offers, tip easily and search for nearby restaurants!

Boehmer was a fabulous venue for the launch; it offered a great ambiance that was perfect for mingling. And the food was great (even for a vegetarian like me). Some of my faves were…

Overall, it was a fabulous evening with great food, drinks and company. I can’t wait to leave my wallet behind and #PayPalit from my phone! You can learn more about the app and download it here for free.
