11 Reasons To Book A Stay At Hotel X Toronto

August 31, 2018

X MARKS THE SPOT. I still remember curiously watching Hotel X Toronto slowly rise from what used to be a mundane parking lot. The hotel is located DIRECTLY across my casa and for the longest time, I had no idea what the plans were for the site. Assuming it was just another condo, I didn’t pay much attention until I saw the signs go up. A quick Google later, I discovered that the Library Hotel Collection – an award-winning luxury hotel chain – had chosen MY beautiful city for their biggest project to date. This made me BEYOND excited because I know we won’t be in our condo for much longer, but thanks to Hotel X Toronto I’ll always be able to enjoy the spectacular views and neighbourhood I fell in love with years ago. Luckily, you can too! The property is an absolute gem and filled with talking points so I thought I’d share some of my top reasons to book a stay…

The view from my room on the 14th floor (1413) was jaw-dropping.

11 Reasons To Book A Stay At Hotel X Toronto

1. Toronto’s Only 3-Story Rooftop Bar

Okay, we’ll start off with my favourite feature: zee rooftop. OMGGG is it ever gorgeous?! Falcon SkyBar is the city’s first three-level rooftop bar and pool. Expect unobstructed views of the skyline and Lake Ontario, floor-to-ceiling windows and five distinct spaces: The Perch, The Nest, The View, The Nook and The Pond which is a 55-foot heated pool that’s open year-round…

Pool access is reserved for overnight guests only so you’ll have to stay at the hotel if you want a dip in this dreamy pool. Trust me, you do…

But don’t fret: if you’re not a guest at the hotel, you can still swing by for cocktails & nibbles on the rooftop!

2. Spacious Suites

I couldn’t believe the size of our rooms at Hotel X Toronto. So spacious. I’ve now stayed in two of their suites and am so impressed by the layouts, jaw-dropping views and amenities…

The highlights? 9′ floor-to-ceiling windows (you guys know I love my natural light), two bathrooms — one of which has a glass shower AND stand alone tub (so important for families with bath time routines!), luxe L’Occitane toiletries, EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine in the vanity drawers (from razors to loofahs), comfy bed, enough electrical outlets for the entire family, Nespresso machine and a huge living room…

Oooh and some of the suites on the lower floors have balconies so you can enjoy a meal or drinks outside like we did…

Bonus: when you book a suite, you also get access to the Library Club Lounge on the 3rd floor for complimentary continental breaky and a wine & cheese sesh between 4:30 and 7 pm every night (which BTW has way more than just wine and cheese). Alternatively you can also purchase access if you’re staying in a regular room — definitely worth it if you plan on enjoying some vino during your stay.

3. Location, Location, Location

The 404-room hotel is proudly situated at Exhibition Place on Toronto’s lakeshore. That means you are literally steps away from some of my favourite spots: Trillium Park (free to enter and offers amazing views of the city), Budweiser Stage (cuz who wants get stuck in traffic before or after watching a concert?!), Ontario Place, BMO Field for all of my soccer fans and all kinds of events at Exhibition Place (like the CNE, One Of A Kind Show, Royal Winter Fair and the Rose Picnic this year — just to name a few). You’re also walking distance from Liberty Village, Lake Ontario AND trendy Queen West. Like it’s actually perfect and why I chose to live in this neighbourhood. But I may be biased…

4. A 90 000 Square Foot Athletic Club

Stop the presses! I’ve never EVER seen a sports club like the one at TEN X TORONTO, let alone at a hotel. To say it’s huge is an understatement. I got lost and discovered more rooms each time I did a lap around the space. We’re talking FOUR indoor tennis courts, NINE squash courts, cutting edge fitness equipment, spin room, hot yoga room, pilates room — I could go on and on…

I mean… just LOOK at this pilates room!!

Guests of the hotel get complimentary access to TEN X TORONTO’s Primary 24/7 Gym (including steam and sauna rooms). And for an additional fee you can reserve tennis courts, squash courts, golf simulator etc etc. all at very reasonable prices — $25 for squash and $45 for tennis on these beaut courts is a great deal…

5. The Food & Cocktails

Every time I visit Hotel X Toronto, there is a new food/bev offering — from Maxx’s Kitchen and Falcon SkyBar to the Nespresso Café. I also had the pleasure of dining at some special events at the hotel and can tell you the dishes were beautifully presented, generous in portion size and delish! If you’re looking for a cocktail reco: I suggest the Falcon Goddess or The “X” Perience.

6. Epic Sunsets And Views Of Toronto

No other hotel in the city offers 360 panoramic views like Hotel X Toronto because the property has juuuust enough distance from the downtown core and hugs the lake. And the sunsets, ohhhh the sunsets (and rises too) are BREATHTAKING.

7. Pet-Friendly Rooms

I know, I know: I don’t have a dog. BUT many of you do so this is an important feature to highlight. Both Soheila and Krystle brought their cute pups along for our staycation and they were treated like royalty by the staff at Hotel X Toronto. Little L even popped by to meet Douglas for the first time…

8. Onsite Cinema & Screening Room

Yup, they also have a 250-seat cinema AND a 60-seat screening room at Hotel X Toronto. The best part? If the screening room isn’t booked out for special events, the staff will gladly play a film for you and your friends/family. During our stay I saw some VERY happy kids running in to watch SpongeBob SquarePants.

The screening room is a treat for kids — big and small! My friends @ladylikeleapord and @thechicconfidential loving life in this pic.

9. Free Childcare

Cue the angel music. There is a 3,000 sq ft Play Centre at Hotel X Toronto where you can drop off your little munchkins (3 months – 11 years old) for up to three hours!! That means you can have a serene dip in the pool, romantic meal with your partner, watch a movie or just enjoy some hot coffee at the Nespresso Cafe onsite (oh the simple things). The Play Centre is brand-spanking-new like the rest of the hotel, is filled with toys and books and even has a crib for the little ones. Did I mention it’s FREE?! MAGIC.

10. Incredible Service

The staff at Hotel X Toronto will treat you like family, which is quite a feat given the size of the property. I witnessed many instances when they went out of their way to look after a guest. It’s the little things that make a difference — like offering you a free ride to anywhere within 5 km of the hotel in the house car. Or the nightly turndown service with water, slippers and chocolate placed in your room. Or opening up the screening room so you can watch a flick with your loved ones. All signs of a brand who understands approachable luxury.

11. History & Art

Here’s one of the things that makes Hotel X Toronto so special: they’ve actually helped preserve a part of our history. Let me explain: after seasons of archeological digs, they unveiled the 1840s enlisted mens’ barracks that were once covered by a parking lot. Now the incredible site is showcased beneath a glass floor — a nod to our city’s past and future….

Hotel X Toronto is also passionate about supporting the arts. So much so that they have a dedicated photography gallery onsite for guests to be inspired by (free entry). Kandy Gallery features the work of Neil Dankoff — a photographer they commissioned to snap over 800 photos around the globe. You’ll also see his work displayed throughout the hotel and in the rooms. Warning: the images may give you the travel bug…

Amazing, right!? Oh wait, Hotel X Toronto isn’t even done expanding yet. They have 7 acres of property and will soon open a new restaurant (Petros 82 will serve up Mediterranean fare), a beer garden and a spa. Hope you guys get a chance to check out this gem of a hotel soon! And if you live in the city, it’s the ultimate spot for a relaxing staycay…
