My family and I recently had a chance to check out the new cottages in partnership with Attractions Ontario so I thought I’d give you guys a little sneak peek…
I’d heard great things about Great Wolf Lodge for YEARS (even before becoming a mama), but I certainly did NOT expect this when we walked into our semi-detached cottage…
Hello details. We loved them all — the high ceilings, the red accents throughout the space, the stone fireplace. All of it.
If your kids are like ours, they will naturally head straight upstairs to the loft — it feels a bit like a treehouse and overlooks the living/dining room below. There are two sets of bunk beds (the bottom bunks are doubles and the top bunks are twins) and a four-piece bathroom so the littles don’t need to trek downstairs to use the facilities.
The master bedroom (on the main floor) has a great layout, seating area, TV and a beaut en suite bathroom. This is where mama and papa wolf will want to sleep…
The outdoor fire pit/BBQ area and the private covered patios at the cottages are also great features. I recommend making a trip to the grocery store and cooking up a family feast for one of your meals. Don’t forget the s’mores!
Perhaps what I appreciate most about the 15 new Timber Wolf Cottages is that they dot the back of the property so they’re really tranquil — a calm place to relax after being surrounded by hundreds of energized kids at the waterpark. I mean, it is LITERALLY the best to watch your little pups have the time of their lives, but we all need to decompress at the end of the day…
One thing to note: while we didn’t mind walking over to the main building since the weather was perfect, it may be a bit of a mission during the colder months because you do need to step outside to enter the main building. That being said, they offer free shuttles year-round so you will only be briefly exposed to the elements.
So, what’s included with your stay? Unlimited WiFi, access to the fitness centre, kids activities, story time, forest friends lobby show and – of course – the reason most families stay at Great Wolf Lodge: the epic waterpark (which is exclusive to resort guests). Lagoons, lazy rivers, wave pools, slides and even a water fort tree house await…
If you need a break from the waterpark, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy with the kids — from Ten Paw Alley (the toddler-friendly bowling alley) and morning yoga sessions to the kids spa and popular arcade. Little L even played his first round of mini golf!
Trust me, no one will get bored here. They’ve literally thought of everything. And what’s really amazing is that they’ve created this magical land with parents top of mind. With offerings like healthy food options and nightly PJ parties for the kids and an onsite spa and poolside cocktails for the adults, everyone in the family is bound to have a fun and relaxing time.
Le sigh, I think this is the beginning of a family tradition! It was so nice to get away with our loved ones and create some fam jam memories together. Staying under one roof at the new Timber Wolf Cottages gave us extra time to bond, the tranquil moments we needed between the fun activities and the option to cook & feast together. I have a feeling these cottages are going to be very popular so make sure to book your stay far in advance!
