As the easy, breezy days of summer become a memory and crisp fall air starts to roll in, priorities are beginning to shift to corn mazes, Halloween costumes, and pumpkin patches. Making for a memorable day trip – and, naturally, no shortage of colour-popping photo ops – a variety of pumpkin patches sit just outside of the Greater Toronto Area to make all of your fall dreams come true. So, rock those layered fall outfits, grab a pumpkin spice latte for the road, and enjoy the multi-coloured leaves on the drive to one of these 10 pumpkin patches.

1. Downey’s Farm Market

A long-time go-to for all things fall (i.e. apples and pumpkins), Downey’s Farm Market in Caledon offers up 10,000 pristine pumpkins to choose from. More than just pumpkins, this spot features wagon rides, a straw jump, a “boo barn,” a corn maze, and their famous pumpkin doughnuts.

2. Pingle’s Farm Market

Located on 148 acres of land 5 minutes East of Oshawa, Pingle’s Family Farm features pick-your-own apples and pumpkins each fall, as well as a massive corn maze. The spot’s farm market offers up baked goods, locally grown fruits and veggies, and Canadian-sourced grocery items.

3. Fernwood Farms and Market

A scenic hour and a half drive from Toronto, Fernwood Farms and Market offers a pick-your-own pumpkin patch with pumpkins of all sizes. Here, you can pick all the pumpkins your heart desires, or get lost in the spot’s expansive corn maze.

4. Albion Orchards

At the Albion Orchards, you’ll find an abundance of bright-orange pumpkins that punctuate the picture-perfect landscape. Located about a 45-minute drive north of Toronto in Caledon, this spot also offers prime apple picking.

5. Andrews’ Scenic Acres

In addition to pumpkins to carve or bake, Milton’s Andrews’ Scenic Acres offers an afternoon of activities for the whole family, like tractor rides, a corn maze, climbable straw “mountains,” and a playground.

A trip to Uxbridge’s Forsyth Family Farms offers more than just pumpkins. Here, guests can pick their own pumpkins, squash, apples, and tomatoes. The peaceful property also features a corn maze, nature trails, and an on-site market.

With a backstory that spans over 100 years, Brantwood Farms has all the trappings of a perfect fall day in the country (or make it a weekend getaway in Brantford like we did). Here, guests can pick their own apples and pumpkins this fall. On the weekends, their activity-packed Fall Festival offers everything from hayrides and a giant jumping pillow, to pumpkin bowling and a castle corn maze.
